Revealing the soul of travel in Europe
The 2nd edition of the Volotea Travel Photo Awards is here, a space where photography becomes a language to express what travel truly means. We know travel is an endless source of inspiration, and that a powerful photo can not only transport us, but also move us, make us reflect, or connect us to a place on a deeply human level.
That’s why we’re looking for photographs that reveal the unexpected, the authentic, and what usually doesn’t make it into postcards: a living tradition, a street with history, a light that transforms how we see the everyday.

Whether you’re a professional or amateur photographer, this is your space. So grab your camera and show us, with your best image, your unique and honest perspective on travel. A secret beach, a hidden corner, or the people who bring to life the cities Volotea flies to.

Chiara Goia
Chiara Goia is a freelance photographer with extensive experience in documentary, travel, portrait, and interior photography. She is currently a National Geographic Explorer, working on a long-term project documenting the marble quarries of Carrara, Italy. She studied Communication and Political Science in Milan, and later completed a program in documentary photography at the International Center of Photography in New York. Her photography has been featured in numerous international publications, including The New Yorker, TIME, The Wall Street Journal, GEO, The Guardian, among many others.

Mònica Figueras
Mònica is an artist and photographer known for her intimate portraits and the recurring presence of feminine figures in her work. Her creative world is deeply shaped by her maritime roots and a life lived near the sea. The themes she explores are touched by the passage of tourism, the silences it leaves behind, and the quiet poetry that lingers once it’s gone. Delicate yet bold, provocative yet contemplative, Mònica embraces contrast and plays with duality—grazing the edge where the seemingly superficial meets something far deeper. Her gaze carries such intimacy that you can feel her presence within the image itself, not just as an observer, but as a part of the scene.

Julien collaborates with leading premium brands in the travel and exploration sectors to bring bold, human adventures to life.

Dominique Bovet
As Editorial Director of Lonely Planet’s French office, Dominique Bovet began traveling back when all cameras were analog, developing black-and-white prints of his journeys through Mongolia and Russia in his own kitchen. He has long since embraced the digital era with Lonely Planet, where photography continues to hold a central place in the travel guides. “Our role isn’t just to provide readers with the practical tools for their trip, but also to make them dream and spark their imagination. For that, photography is irreplaceable.“

Sandra Rikić
Director of Communication at Volotea since July 2023. During her professional career, she has worked in the media (EFE and RTVE), at strategic communications agencies (Hill & Knowlton Strategies and Extend) and companies such as Desigual and PepsiCo. “Photography is a powerful medium to capture the beauty of our destinations.
